Comfort & Style: a Look at Hilton Anaheim’s Full-Property Renovation

At Hilton Anaheim, we operate with one goal in mind: to provide our guests with an experience that feels equal parts comfortable and distinctly local. We understand our guests arrive in the heart of Orange County with expectations—whether they are here on a family vacation, attending a major convention, or simply seeking a peaceful escape. We considered these different scenarios when planning our renovation so we could meet and exceed those expectations in every way possible.
When we began the project, we asked ourselves: How can we create an environment that is not only visually stunning but also enhances guest relaxation, incorporates sustainable elements, and keeps Hilton Anaheim firmly aligned with Hilton’s core brand values? The answer was a full-property transformation that fuses thoughtful design with cutting-edge innovation and a clear commitment to sustainability, which was achieved through a strategic reimagination of the hotel that brought that vision to life.
Sustainable Style: Incorporating Sustainability & Efficiency
From the earliest planning stages, sustainability wasn’t just a buzzword—it was a driving force behind our entire renovation. We were determined to go beyond surface-level enhancements to instead build more responsible practices into the very foundation of Hilton Anaheim’s transformation. Every decision, from the materials selected to the systems implemented, was guided by a clear goal: to reduce our environmental impact while enhancing the experience for our guests and contributing positively to our community.
A key pillar of our sustainability initiative was prioritizing locally sourced materials wherever possible. A standout example of this approach is the showstopping chandelier in our lobby bar—a true work of art designed and handcrafted right here in Los Angeles. Working with local artisans not only allowed us to cut down on the emissions and costs associated with long-distance shipping but also provided the opportunity to reinvest in our surrounding creative economy and showcase Southern California craftsmanship. It’s more than just a beautiful fixture—it’s a symbol of our values and commitment to thoughtful, community-rooted design.
We also took a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency. The property will soon feature 100% LED lighting, a shift that will lower our energy consumption across both guest rooms and common areas. This upgrade not only aligns with California’s energy conservation goals but also creates a more inviting ambiance throughout the hotel—from the warm glow in our newly redesigned lobby to the refresh-focused lighting in each room.
Equally important was our effort to conserve water, especially given the ongoing environmental concerns across the state. All guest rooms and public restrooms are now equipped with WaterSense-certified low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads. These state-of-the-art fixtures are designed to maintain an exceptional guest experience while significantly cutting down on water usage—helping us save thousands of gallons annually.
Beyond physical upgrades, we’re also introducing operational practices that promote long-term sustainability. From behind-the-scenes facility management to guest-facing touchpoints, our team members are trained and empowered to make environmentally responsible choices every day. This includes reducing energy use by turning off lights and equipment when not in use, prioritizing recycling in back-of-house operations, and reinforcing sustainability practices during daily huddles—including reminders to report leaks promptly and minimize single-use items. We also introduced bulk amenities in guest rooms to reduce plastic waste. These efforts are further supported by Hilton’s broader Travel with Purpose strategy, which helps ensure our sustainability goals are part of a larger, global commitment to responsible hospitality.
Ultimately, sustainability isn’t just something we added to this renovation—it’s something we built into it. The result is a reimagined Hilton Anaheim that reflects not only the needs of the modern traveler but also the values of a more conscious and connected guest.
Innovation Meets Hospitality: Connected Room Technology
The modern traveler expects more than just a place to rest their head—they’re looking for an experience that seamlessly blends relaxation, convenience, and innovation. Guests want their hotel stay to feel intuitive and tailored to their individual preferences.
Hilton’s Connected Room Experience is a digital entertainment hub that enables guests to personalize and control several aspects of their stay from one central point –their mobile device and the Hilton Honors app. Guests expect a modern in-room TV experience with access to the same content they have at home, and Hilton’s partnerships with brands like Netflix, Disney+, SiriusXM, and more, enable guests to enjoy the content they want while driving personalization & commercial value.
In 2025, Hilton elevated its Connected Room Experience with the launch of new in-room wellness partnerships designed to meet guests where they are. Through an exclusive integration with Calm, guests can unwind with expert-led meditations, sleep stories, and breathwork, all accessible directly from the in-room TV. For those looking to move, a curated selection of Peloton classes—including strength, barre, Pilates, stretching, and core—is also available on demand through the Connected Room technology. The content is refreshed every six months to keep routines fresh and motivating, no bike required. It’s wellness on your terms, seamlessly delivered through the same tech-forward platform guests already use to personalize their stay.
Bringing the Outside In: Thoughtful Design Influences
Impactful design elements can affect how a guest feels. It’s the warmth of a first impression, familiarity, and the subtle inspiration that invites relaxation, exploration, or connection. With our full-property renovation, we set out to create more than a modern upgrade—we envisioned a hospitality experience rooted in intentional design.
From the outset, our design philosophy was guided by two powerful influences: the natural beauty of Southern California and the historic spirit of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, which inspired the original hotel’s architecture. While breathing new life into the property, we embraced a design that celebrated the past while addressing the interests of today’s travelers.
The result is a carefully curated aesthetic that blends organic textures, nostalgic storytelling, and modern functionality into every inch of the space.
The lobby environment is fresh and welcoming, with design elements that echo the tranquility of the outdoors. Tree-inspired motifs and carpet that mimics the texture and softness of grass were chosen for both their visual appeal and ability to evoke a sense of calm. Our LED lighting system casts a gentle blue glow reminiscent of a cloudless California sky—bringing the soothing effects of daylight indoors and helping guests feel instantly more at ease.
Research has shown that incorporating nature into built environments can reduce stress, improve focus, and promote overall well-being. That’s exactly what we set out to achieve with these biophilic design elements—a grounded, rejuvenating atmosphere that allows guests to unplug from the chaos of the outside world and reconnect.
Beyond nature, we also wanted the design to move—both literally and figuratively. To that end, we drew inspiration from the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, a pivotal event in the city’s—and this hotel’s—history. The Olympics, while rooted in sport, symbolize unity, momentum, and global connection. These themes are subtly woven throughout the property in sleek architectural lines, curated artwork, and layered textures that stimulate a sense of flow and dynamism.
The materials selected reflect motion and balance, with metallic accents and flowing forms that also nod to the athleticism and grace of Olympic competition. Even our color palette—warm neutrals paired with vibrant pops of energy—was chosen to reflect the harmony between California’s natural landscapes and the bold spirit of human achievement.
What Guests Can Look Forward To
One exciting feature includes the spectacular theme-park views now available from our refreshed guest rooms. We reimagined these spaces with comfort, where unforgettable moments of magic can be cultivated. Waking up to see the park from your window is a truly unique experience—one that sets the tone for a memorable visit.
Beyond the guest rooms, the transformation continues throughout the property with thoughtful additions designed to enhance every part of the guest journey. One of the most exciting is Poppy’s, our new full-service restaurant located just off the lobby is scheduled to open late summer. Inspired by the vibrant flavors of California cuisine, Poppy’s will blend fresh, locally sourced ingredients with a creative, seasonal approach to dining. From sun-soaked brunches to relaxed dinners, Poppy’s will offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the laid-back elegance of Southern California. For guests craving a light, healthy dish or a hearty meal after a day at the park, Poppy’s will provide a dining experience that feels both elevated and approachable. The restaurant’s design will flawlessly echo the hotel’s broader aesthetic—natural textures, open-air vibes, and subtle nods to Anaheim’s dynamic culture.
For guests on the go, Hansen’s Marketplace - a brand-new addition to the property, serving as a reimagined modern convenience hub - offers a curated selection of high-quality grab-and-go items. Guests can turn to Hansen’s Marketplace for a fresh-pressed juice before an onsite meeting, to pick up artisanal snacks for a day at Disneyland, or to start the morning with premium coffee and pastries. With its thoughtful layout and inviting design, it serves as an extension of our commitment to delivering ease, efficiency, and excellence in every guest interaction.
The redesigned lobby is another standout, now serving as both a welcoming entrance and a vibrant social hub. With cozy seating nooks, sleek finishes, and a new lobby bar, it’s the perfect place to gather, unwind, or connect over a cocktail or locally sourced beverage. The space reflects our broader design goals: blending functionality and elegance with a sense of place.
Our wellness offerings have also expanded in response to the modern traveler’s desire for balance and self-care. The fitness center now features state-of-the-art equipment, flexible workout spaces, and improved lighting and ventilation to create an energizing environment. The pool is also getting a full upgrade with a newly designed Pool Bar & Grill that will be completed by the end of August.
In every corner of Hilton Anaheim, we reimagined what a hospitality experience can be—combining comfort, convenience, and a sense of magic that truly sets our hotel apart.
Looking Ahead: A New Era for Hilton Anaheim

This renovation is a bold step forward but remains deeply rooted in Hilton’s longstanding values: to deliver exceptional stays for every guest, every time. From the quality of our linens to the intuitive layout of our redesigned guest rooms, every change was made with our guests in mind.
