Spirit Airlines Expands Nonstop Service with 15 New and Resuming Routes from Detroit Metro Airport


Spirit Airlines is significantly expanding its presence at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), announcing 15 new and resumed nonstop routes, further strengthening its connection to both domestic and international destinations. Starting in June 2025, Spirit will offer nonstop flights to 40 destinations, marking the highest number of nonstop routes ever served by the airline from Detroit.
“We’re adding even more popular travel options to our Detroit route map, giving our DTW guests a variety of new destinations to discover across the country and beyond,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines.

- Austin (AUS) – Resuming 4 times a week starting June 12, 2025
- Birmingham (BHM) – New route, 2 times a week starting June 13, 2025
- Charleston (CHS) – Resuming 2-4 times a week starting May 9, 2025
- Hartford (BDL) – New route, daily service starting June 12, 2025
- Louisville (SDF) – New route, 2 times a week starting June 13, 2025
- Kansas City (MCI) – Resuming 2 times a week starting May 8, 2025
- Milwaukee (MKE) – New route, 2 times a week starting June 13, 2025
- Norfolk (ORF) – New route, 4 times a week starting May 8, 2025
- Phoenix (PHX) – Resuming daily service starting June 12, 2025
- Punta Cana (PUJ) – New route, 3 times a day starting June 12, 2025
- Richmond (RIC) – New route, 3 times a week starting June 12, 2025
- Salt Lake City (SLC) – New route, 3 times a week starting June 13, 2025
- San Diego (SAN) – Resuming 4 times a week starting June 12, 2025
