Travelers heading to South Korea will soon have a new nonstop option as Hawaiian Airlines, in partnership with Alaska Airlines, begins direct service from Seattle to Seoul Incheon starting September 12, 2025.

Operated on Hawaiian’s spacious Airbus A330-200 widebody jets, the new long-haul route promises a premium flying experience just in time for Chuseok, Korea’s beloved fall harvest festival celebrated in early October. The timing gives passengers an opportunity to reunite with loved ones or explore South Korea during one of its most festive seasons.

Originally unveiled in December 2024, the Seattle–Seoul route reflects the growing ambition of the Alaska-Hawaiian alliance to reshape Seattle into a major global air hub. With this launch, the partnership is not just connecting cities but creating a strategic bridge between the Pacific Northwest and Asia.

This September launch will be followed by another milestone: daily service from Seattle to Tokyo Narita, scheduled to begin May 12, 2025. Together, these two routes mark the early stages of a broader plan to offer frequent, widebody international flights to Asia from Seattle’s growing international terminal.

“With our robust network, we can connect our guests through our global gateway in Seattle for convenient nonstop service to Seoul and Tokyo, with additional connections to other Asian destinations with our global partners,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines. “As we grow our global network from Seattle in the coming years, we’ll announce new international routes to dynamic destinations that we know our guests are going to love to visit.”

The new Seattle–Seoul connection is expected to benefit both leisure and business travelers, as well as the large Korean-American population in the Pacific Northwest. With Hawaiian Airlines’ award-winning onboard service, the route is poised to set a new standard in transpacific travel comfort.

Passengers can begin booking their tickets for the September flights in the coming weeks through both Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines websites.
