Royal Air Maroc Expands Global Network: Resumes New Flights to Four French Cities and Increases Frequency to Two More

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will be resuming a number of its major international routes in October as it continues to grow and reinforce its global network. The Moroccan national carrier will resume twice-weekly services from Marrakech to Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, and Toulouse in October 2025. The Boeing 737-800-operated routes are a key move to consolidate the carrier’s connections to France, the biggest source market for Morocco last year with 27.5% of international arrivals.

The resumption of these routes is part of RAM’s global expansion plan, seeking to improve Morocco’s connectivity with major European markets. The carrier also intends to boost frequencies on its current Marrakech–Marseille and Marrakech–Paris Charles de Gaulle routes. The Paris route is to be drastically boosted, with daily flights in place for the 2025–2026 holiday period, owing to the increased traffic between the two nations.

Expanding Global Connectivity: New International Routes from Casablanca

In addition to its reinvigorated French services, Royal Air Maroc is expanding its Casablanca hub with new international routes. Starting 17 September 2025, RAM will launch twice-weekly flights to Zurich and Ndjamena, followed by flights to Sal Island on 18 September and Munich on 20 October. These new connections mark a key step in RAM’s strategy to broaden its reach to new markets and bolster regional connectivity.

These new services to Zurich, Ndjamena, Sal Island, and Munich are expected to cater to both business and leisure travelers, tapping into high-demand corridors and increasing Marrakech and Casablanca’s connectivity with major international cities.

Strengthening RAM’s Medium-Haul Fleet: Boeing 737 MAX 8 Expansion

To support this ambitious growth, Royal Air Maroc is investing in its fleet modernization by acquiring five newly acquired Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This expansion brings the total number of Boeing 737 MAX 8s in RAM’s fleet to seven, complementing its existing fleet of 28 Boeing 737-800s. The new aircraft are designed to enhance the airline’s efficiency on medium-haul routes, providing improved fuel efficiency and greater passenger comfort.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is well-suited for regional flights, offering RAM the flexibility to operate twice-weekly services to emerging destinations, while also enhancing the airline’s environmental sustainability with lower emissions and fuel consumption compared to older aircraft.
