Raffles Hotels & Resorts to Open Iconic Raffles Lake Como in 2027, Marking the Brand’s First Italian Property with a Unique Blend of Glamour and Scenic Beauty

Raffles Hotels & Resorts, a renowned name in the luxury hotel industry under the Accor umbrella, has unveiled plans to establish its first Italian property in the prestigious Lake Como region. This new venture, Raffles Lake Como, is a collaboration with CL Hotel SPA, with UniCredit serving as the financial partner. Set to open in 2027, the property promises to offer a seamless blend of the area’s historic charm and Raffles’ signature luxury.

The upcoming Raffles Lake Como will be housed in a majestic 1920s Art Nouveau villa, previously known as the Grand Hotel Imperiale. The villa, renowned for its historical architecture and sprawling lakeside views, is being fully renovated to meet the brand’s world-class standards. Positioned on the exclusive western shores of Lake Como in Moltrasio, the hotel is conveniently located just a short drive from the town of Como. Its prime waterfront location also offers direct access to a private dock, making it an ideal gateway for exploring the scenic beauty of the region.

Designed to embody both the elegance of Raffles and the vibrant Italian culture, Raffles Lake Como will feature 84 luxurious rooms, including 18 suites and two private villas, many of which will boast unparalleled views of the lake. In addition to the renowned Raffles butler service, the resort will provide guests with exceptional dining experiences, including lakeside culinary delights, a signature Raffles Long Bar, and the renowned Writers Bar.

For leisure and relaxation, the resort will offer an array of top-tier amenities, including both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center, and a chic beach club. Private access to the lake will enhance the experience, with an exclusive arrival and check-in service directly from the water. The hotel will also cater to the needs of high-profile events, providing elegant spaces for weddings, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations. Expansive gardens and a magnificent lakeside lawn will offer idyllic settings for such occasions.

The strategic partnership behind Raffles Lake Como also benefited from the expertise of EY Hospitality’s Marco Zalamena and Francesco Cammardella, who served as advisors in the operator selection process for CL Hotel SPA.

The Raffles Lake Como property will be the brand’s fifth European location, joining the prestigious Raffles London at The OWO, Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, Raffles Europejski Warsaw, and Raffles Istanbul. With an eye on growth in both urban and leisure destinations, Raffles has recently announced new developments in Tokyo and Goa, expanding its reach to further luxury hotspots around the world.
