Emirates Adds 17 Extra Flights for Eid Al Fitr to Meet Travel Demand Surge

As Eid Al Fitr approaches, Emirates Airlines has announced an increase in services, adding 17 extra flights to four Middle East destinations to accommodate the surge in travel demand. The move comes as more than 371,000 passengers are expected to fly with Emirates during the Eid holiday rush, reflecting a broader trend in regional travel that continues to gain momentum in 2025.
Increased Travel Demand for Eid Al Fitr
According to Dnata, the rise in UAE residents’ international travel is significant this year, with a 65% increase in bookings compared to last year. Additionally, over 90% of UAE residents are expected to travel internationally for Eid, a notable increase from 60% in 2024. This surge in outbound travel is mirrored by a broader regional travel trend, as residents across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries take advantage of paid holidays and the upcoming Eid festivities.
The expected spike in travel is also tied to the upcoming Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations, which are set to begin on March 31, depending on the moon’s sighting. With up to four days of paid leave potentially granted to Gulf residents, the demand for both international trips and staycations has surged, driving airlines like Emirates to ramp up their operations.
Emirates’ Additional Flights for Eid Al Fitr
To meet this increased demand, Emirates is enhancing its services between March 26 and April 6, 2025, with additional flights to four key destinations in the Middle East. These destinations include:
- Amman, Jordan – Six extra flights
- Dammam, Saudi Arabia – Five additional flights
- Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Four extra flights
- Kuwait – Two additional services
This increase in flight services will help accommodate the surge in travel, allowing Emirates to offer more options to passengers traveling within the region during this peak period.
Peak Travel Times at Dubai International Airport (DXB)
As Dubai International Airport (DXB) prepares for the Eid rush, Emirates has advised passengers to anticipate the busiest travel times, especially at Terminal 3. According to airport officials, the busiest departure days will be March 28-29 and April 4-6, with an expected 80,000 travelers departing for international destinations. To ensure smooth travel, Emirates recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure to allow for security checks and any other potential delays.
Special Eid Menus and Festive Offerings
In celebration of Eid Al Fitr, Emirates will be serving a special Eid menu on select flights, offering passengers a taste of traditional Middle Eastern delicacies. The festive menu will feature dishes such as chicken madhbi, prawn matfi, and pistachio cake, allowing travelers to enjoy a unique culinary experience while flying.
Conclusion
With Emirates boosting services to accommodate increased travel during the Eid holiday season, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and be mindful of peak travel times at Dubai International Airport. As regional travel continues to surge, Emirates remains a key player in ensuring that passengers can celebrate Eid with convenient and reliable flight options. For more information on flight schedules and Eid-related services, passengers should consult Emirates’ official website and local airport advisories.
