Star Princess to Debut October Four with a Spectacular Mix of Theatrical Shows, Candlelight Concerts, and Latin Rhythms in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, and Panama Canal

As Star Princess majestically debuts on Oct. 4, 2025, her passengers will not only be amused, but immersed in a universe of emotion, theater, and fine art. Princess Cruises unveiled a spectacular new entertainment program for its new Sphere-class vessel with a mix of new original theatrical productions, high-caliber musical performances, and immersive events unlike anything at sea.

All of the shipboard facilities of the Star Princess were specially designed to inspire wonder and to complement the guest experience. Full-scale stage productions, nights underneath the stars, and impromptu concerts are part of a broad-based entertainment that goes far beyond the classical stage.

Princess Arena: Star-Studded Shows Take Center Stage

Its centerpiece is the Princess Arena, a theatrical performance venue that is a state-of-the-art, high-tech theater, which stages two spectacular shows:
Meridian brings audiences onboard a ship of sophistication and intrigue onboard the fictional luxury liner Celestial. Against a backdrop of masked balls and rumbling engine rooms, this period romantic drama finds noblewoman Arabella Dovewood on a mission of exploration, emancipation, and destiny. Directed by BAFTA-winner Dan Shipton, with choreography from Kieran Daley-Ward, the production incorporates a cinematic soundtrack of new music alongside reworked pop anthems.

Illuminate transforms the space into a whimsical circus in which illusion meets reality. Audiences are guided through sensational moments and emotional revelations through actors portraying various corners of a ringmaster character. Conceived with a spirited score by Kola Bello and co-direction from Jay Revell and Ross Nicholson, this production finds magic in the everyday.

Both programs were jointly produced with Black Skull Creative, a multinational company known for crafting innovative, top-caliber virtual experiences that redefine the boundaries of everyday cruise programming.

Music, Rhythm, and Celebrations at Sea

The show proceeds with Viva La Música, returning onboard after a well-received initial performance on Sun Princess. Directed by Liz Imperio—respected for work with global giants like Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez—this electric performance interconnects Latin rhythms with anthems like “Havana” and “Oye Como Va.” It’s a celebration of Latin American cultural wealth, conveyed through passionate dance and vibrant staging.

Besides the central theater, there is entertainment running through every part of the ship, from theme deck parties to the return of the signature Champagne Waterfall, now enhanced with lighting, music, and narration to create a next-generation celebration under the stars.

The Dome: Candlelight Concert Series

Above decks is The Dome, a stunning glass-covered venue that is home to the Candlelight Concert Series. Here, passengers can enjoy reimagined classical compositions amidst hundreds of swaying candles. These immersive concerts blend video storytelling with live performances for a relaxing but poignant break from the day’s explorations.

The Piazza: Music, Magic, and Celebration

Center-stage onboard, The Piazza gets transformed into a vibrant stage, bringing the onboard live entertainment to life. This vibrant presentation Princess Jamz features the lively 15-piece Princess World Orchestra, which delivers a 45-minute musical extravaganza led by the shipboard Cruise Director. With rich, rumbling rhythms reverberating off the room, the event converts the Piazza into a vibrant hub of noise, celebration, and irrepressible energy for youth and adult alike.

Premiering alongside is the Celestial Champagne Soirée, a breathtaking evening event that combines video projection, music, and lighting, culminating with the Champagne Waterfall tradition. This unforgettable celebration raises a glass to new memories beneath the stars.

With a capacity of 4,300 passengers, the 175,500-gross-ton Star Princess is the latest to join the fleet of Princess Cruises, sistering her sister, the Sun Princess, in the ultra-modern Sphere-class. Constructed at famous Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, her new-generation vessel is set to embark on a sensational first season with cruises including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Alaska.
